Advanced Handgun

This practical self-defense handgun class reinforces the Fundamentals of Firearms Safety, along with the skills necessary to properly handle a revolver and/or semi-automatic pistol learned in the Basic Handgun class. We will focus on developing a "defensive mindset" and learn the "colors" of awareness as first taught by Col. Jeff Cooper.

Students will begin working with their handgun from a holster, learning to draw safely, efficiently, and quickly.  Fire multiple shots accurately and reload quickly.

This class was developed to help the student learn the skill set needed to help avoid or to survive a deadly force encounter.

This is a full day of intense training in the classroom and on the range.  Topics include:

  • Controlled trigger press

  • Trigger reset

  • Muzzle discipline

  • Drawing from a holster

  • Delivering multiple shots quickly and on target

  • Speed and Emergency reloads

  • The difference between Cover and Concealment and how to use both

  • Moving off the X

  • Strong hand and weak hand only shooting

  • How to "Train to Win" because losing is not an option

Cost:         $150.00
Ammunition is not included.

Class Length:        ~8 hours

Prerequisites:  Basic Handgun Training.  This is NOT the class to learn how to shoot a pistol for the 1st time!
